God Bows To Math/TFF - Smile For Silver, SIng For Gold

God Bows To Math are finally putting something out… with a little help from Dunedin noise outfit TFF.

The long awaited split between two already cult favorites in New Zealand is almost over, as “Smile For Silver, Sing For Gold” contrasts the whole North Island/South Island divide, harmonious in it’s existence with each other, less that harmonious in it’s execution – even going as far as to cover each others songs in their own unique styles.

“Smile For Silver, Sing For Gold” highlights God Bows To Math’s newer direction, with what some might state as more “grown up” lyrical context and themes within their material. It’s not a complete change from their earlier EP, “Depravity”, but it highlights how much the group have grown in the past six months. TFF’s brattiness contains orchestrations that rival their seniors.  “Experimental punk” to it’s most concentrate form, through liberal usage of saxophone, Gameboy sequencers amongst a plethora of jagged, angular guitars, for some this is a snapshot of what to expect from the quartet’s forthcoming release.
